And You Thought it was a Rummage Sale!

“And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need” (Acts 2:44-45).

I witnessed an awesome “community gathering” of outreach and in reach during the week of September 26 here at First Lutheran Church of Crystal!

Over 68 members came to work together in harmony for the good of all people.

We opened our doors and the people came.

We opened our hearts and received joy in our conversations with each other
and our neighbors.

We invited people to return to come and worship with us.

We passed forward the wealth of what remained when it was time to close our doors:
We invited NEAR to come to take Christmas items, sweaters, coats, and jackets to give to those in need!

We shared donations to ARC Value Village, Bridging and Bibles for Mission.
Profits from the sale were approximately $2,500, the same amount as last year’s Fall Festival. The proceeds will be split three ways between world missions, local missions, and First Lutheran church projects.

Greatest of all is the wealth and abundance of God’s love and grace that brings us all together as one, no matter what our circumstances are, accepting us freely for who we each are, God’s children!  Thank you God for your blessings and the many riches you bestow upon us. Amen.

In the light of God,

Linda Van Ryn
