Welcome to our new Youth Director!
Dear First Lutheran Members and Friends,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your new Youth Director! I am very excited to start on this journey with the youth at First Lutheran. As some of you may know I grew up at First Lutheran Church and was very active in the youth group while in high school.
Recently, I graduated from Winona State University with a degree in Social Work. My time spent at Winona State was full of many opportunities to learn about the love God has for us and I believe it has prepared me for this position at our church. Thank you again for this opportunity and I look forward to the adventure that lies ahead! —Jessica Johnson
Confirmation
New format with House of Hope Lutheran
Wednesday confirmation classes now have doubled in size with the collaboration of House of Hope Lutheran in New Hope. These combined classes of 6th through 8th graders will meet on Wednesdays at First Lutheran for the remainder of the fall. In addition to our regular class schedule, each first Wednesday of the month will be a special night for a combined confirmation learning or service event with four other ELCA churches in the area. October’s event will take us to NEAR food shelf in Crystal.
Teen Forum
Wednesday at 6:30-7:30 p.m.
High school students host a weekly guest speaker.
Pizza is available at 6:00 p.m. for $2/person.
Fall Worship
Begins Sunday, September 12
Sunday: 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Sunday School
Held during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.
Kid’s Church
The first Sunday of each month
(no Sunday school).
Children stay with their parents
through the children’s message.
