Music

We strive to be a community of music-loving children and adults who are united by a shared sense of purpose to enhance and support the worship of First Lutheran Church of Crystal. Our musical family has a place for everyone.

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m, from September through May. They assist in leading worship and provide special anthems at the 9:15 a.m. worship service three Sundays of each month (September through Memorial Day). They also provide music for Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

In addition, we present a Christmas concert during Advent and celebrate Music Sunday in May. These concerts include all the music makers at First Lutheran.
The Chancel Choir schedule begins the first week in September and continues through the week before Memorial Day weekend.

Faith First Men is southern gospel ensemble comprised of men from First Lutheran Church of Crystal and Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church. In addition to singing on alternate months at each of the two churches, they also participate in special concerts during the year – both in their own churches and in the greater community. To check their calendar, click here. They rehearse at First Lutheran Church on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. To join the group or to schedule them to sing in your church or facility, contact director, Mariana Duffney

Joyful Ringers is the adult handbell choir at First Lutheran. They welcome new members at any time. For information and rehearsal times, contact Beth Miller at 763-545-3554.

Alleluia Ringers is our hand chime choir.  It is comprised of boys and girls in third through sixth grade. New members are always welcome. For specific information and scheduling, please contact director, Sheryl Larsen at (763) 537-4110.

Cantors, Soloists, and Occasional Ensembles
Singers who have the desire and ability to perform as soloists or members of a smaller ensemble may provide special music during the offering, Communion distribution, or lead psalms and liturgy.

Instrumentalists
Instruments are used to enhance our liturgy at the 9:30 AM service, provide special music and accompaniment to the choir, ensembles, or hymns on an ad-hoc basis - either solo or as part of an ensemble.
